Between 2000 and 2020 the teenage pregnancy rate in England and Wales has declined across all age groups, despite a noticeable uptick in the mid which kept the overall rate over ** until 2008, when the rate started to decrease, eventually reaching a low of **** by 2020. For 2021, the rate increased slightly for under 18s, up to **** from ****, with the rate not changing for under 16s and under 20s.
