From 2013 to 2018, the registrations of Moto Guzzi motorcycles in Italy increased from around 1.3 thousand units in 2013 to around two thousand units in 2018. Moto Guzzi is one of the leading Italian motorcycle manufacturers, along with brands such as Piaggio, Ducati and Benelli, and it is the oldest European motorcycle manufacturer in continuous production.

The
market share of Moto Guzzi motorcycles in Italy was slightly less than one percent as of 2018. In Italy, the brand ranked fourteenth on the
ranking of motorcycle brands sold in Italy in 2017. The brands leading the ranking were Honda, Piaggio and Yamaha.
Motorcycle export and import The motorcycle industry contributes to the gross domestic product in Italy, and the other countries of the European Union constitute one of the main destination markets. In 2017 the number of
motorcycles exported to the European Union was about 232,336, ranking the EU as the first market, followed by the non-EU countries and the rest of the world. Additionally, the number of
imported mopeds placed Italy as one of the most important motorcycles markets. Considering the figures, most of the imported mopeds come from China.
