This statistic shows the number of major residential planning application decisions made and granted in England from 2004/05 to 2018/19. The highest number of residential property decisions made for major residential developments was in 2004/05 with almost ** thousand, of which almost *** thousand applications were granted. Since then the overall figure has decreased although, as of 2012/13 the number has begun to once again rise. As of 2018/19 the number of major residential planning application decisions granted amounted to nearly *** thousand.
