Fuel oil is the main source of energy for the Mediterranean island nation, which is almost exclusively reliant on energy imports. In recent years, wind and solar parks have begun contributing to Cyprus' energy mix; however, fossil fuels still accounted for the largest electricity production volume in 2023.
