This timeline provides data on the end-of-period outstanding amount of treasury zero-coupon bonds (CTZs) issued by public administrations in Italy from January 2017 to May 2022. Throughout the period of consideration, there were sizeable fluctuations in the outstanding amount of CTZs, with an all-time low in August 2017 (roughly 37 billion euros) and an all-time high in October 2020 (over 71 billion euros). As of May 2022, the outstanding amount of CTZs decreased to a value of just over 12 billion euros.
