In April 2020, sales of light vehicles in Mexico plummeted, reaching less than ** thousand units. This represented a decrease of more than ** percent in comparison to the previous month. The decline is related to the health emergency declared by the Mexican government at the end of March 2020, a result of the COVID-19 outbreak. From that moment on, all non-essential activities in the public and private sectors of this Latin American country were suspended.
In March 2021, around **** thousand light vehicles were sold to customers throughout Mexico, an increase of nine percent in comparison to the same month of the previous year.
