The Indian state of Maharashtra, reported a passenger and goods tax revenue of approximately 7.7 billion Indian rupees in fiscal year 2020. About 83 percent of the tax revenue was generated from high speed diesel and motor spirit by the central government. Road tax across the country continued to stay above the goods and services tax.
