Nonetheless, it seemed that smartphones were the main driver behind the increasing traffic through mobile devices. Smartphone ownership in Belgium was highest amongst 18-to 24-year-olds, with a penetration rate of more than ** percent. Ownership among older generations was lower: ** percent of Belgians aged 45-54 years, for example, had a smartphone.

“Adult” content?

Millennials (defined as the age group 18 to 34 years) made up a slight majority of Pornhub visitors coming from Belgium. In Belgium, however, 25-to 34-year-olds visited the website relatively more frequently than their younger counterparts. This is different from, for example, the Netherlands where the proportion of viewers between ** and **saw an increase compared to previous years.

What about the sex life of Belgians?

According to a 2017 survey, respondents from Flanders (the Dutch-speaking region of Belgium) on average had *** sex partners in their lives. It is unclear, however, if online dating apps play a part in this. Tinder, for example, was downloaded approximately ** times via the App Store and roughly ** times via Google Play in 2018.
