In 2022, Amazon made a deal to purchase some 8.4 gigawatts of renewable energy, of which, roughly 7.1 gigawatts were from solar power and roughly 1.3 gigawatts were from wind power. By comparison, Meta made a deal to purchase 2.3 gigawatts of renewable energy, while Google purchased 1.2 gigawatts. Overall, solar power had by far more deals than wind energy.
