The number of enterprises in the manufacturing industry in Turkey declined to 332,834 enterprises in 2014. This was the first time during the observed period that the number of enterprises in this industry declined in Turkey. Over the observed period, the number of enterprises has been subject to fluctuation.
In accordance with EU REGULATION (EC) No 250/2009 only companies are included here which were active during at least a part of the reference period. It also includes local units (branches) which do not constitute a separate legal entity and which are dependent on foreign enterprises.
