The gross savings per capita in Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands increased a lot in 2020. In 2022, the gross savings in Belgium fell by roughly 1,109 euros per capita. The savings in Luxembourg were higher than those of the other Benelux countries. The savings rate of households in Belgium, calculated as share of gross disposable income, is expected to fall in the coming years.
