In 2022, the iron and steel industry in the United Kingdom generated approximately 3.5 terawatt-hours of electricity. While figures have fluctuated somewhat in the period of consideration, this was a significant increase compared to the previous year. Approximately 40 percent of the electricity generated by the sector had been consumed that year.
