The total deal value on the Euronext Growth (previously Alternext) stock exchange secondary market increased overall between 2005 and 2023, despite significant fluctuations. In 2007, the total value of shares traded on the secondary market amounted to around *** billion euros, and by 2015, it had increased to nearly **** billion euros. After dropping back to *** billion euros in 2019, the global coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic caused a massive spike in trade volumes, causing it to peak at almost ** billion euros in 2020. As of 2023, it amounted to nearly *** billion euros.
