In Scotland there were approximately 26 thousand men and 29 thousand women admitted to hospital as a result of an unintentional injury in 2022/23. Most notably, the gender gap decreased from 2008/09 to 2015/16 and has now reversed with more women being admitted than men since 2019/20.
