In 2025, the ratio of national debt to gross domestic product (GDP) of Montenegro stood at 67.1 percent. Between 2002 and 2025, the figure dropped by 18.6 percentage points, though the decline followed an uneven course rather than a steady trajectory. The ratio is forecast to decline by 1.05 percentage points from 2025 to 2031, fluctuating as it trends downward.
