Each year, the amount of rice produced in the United States differs: in 2025, the country was responsible for an estimated *** million metric tons of rice, a decrease from around million tons a year prior. Some of 2025’s top rice-producing states included California, Louisiana, and Mississippi. The leading state, however, was Arkansas, which cultivated approximately **** million cwt that year.
In the fiscal year of 2025/26, India exported about ** million metric tons of rice, making India the export leader. Vietnam ranked second with an export volume of about *** million metric tons. Despite also being one of the world's leading rice exporters, China imported one the highest volumes of the grain during the same period. Chinese rice imports amounted to roughly million metric tons, while the country’s exports reached around *** million metric tons.
