The production value of the rubber products manufacturing industry in the European Union decreased by 1.4 billion euros (-2.07 percent) in 2018 in comparison to the previous year. This was the first time during the observed period that the production value in this industry declined in the European Union. Nevertheless, the last two years in this industry recorded a significant higher production value than the preceding years.
The value of production is defined by Eurostat as the amount actually produced by the unit, based on sales, including changes in stocks and the resale of goods and services.
