Public bus usage has been declining in the past few decades, falling by a half between 1960 and 2017.

Ford bus sales were highest in the second quarter of 2017, when they amounted to 509 units. This was 85 percent more than the number of new bus registrations in the same quarter in 2020. Figures tended to be lowest in the fourth quarter of each year.
Most popular body types

most popular body type were minibuses. In 2018, there were 4,800 such vehicles registered in Great Britain. This was followed by single deck buses, at 2,000 units.
