According to the official Chinese definition, Eastern, Central, Western, and Northeastern China encompass the following provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions:
Eastern China refers to Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Fujian, Shandong, Guangdong, and Hainan; Central China refers to Shanxi, Anhui, Jiangxi, Henan, Hubei, and Hunan; Western China refers to Inner Mongolia, Guangxi, Chongqing, Sichuan, Guizhou, Yunnan, Tibet, Shaanxi, Gansu, Qinghai, Ningxia, and Xinjiang; Northeastern China refers to Liaoning, Jilin, and Heilongjiang.
