The Faster Payment Scheme (FPS) is a payment service that enables the quick and secure transaction of mobile, internet, telephone and standing order payments. This statistic shows the total value of return payments through the scheme in the United Kingdom (UK) from September 2017 to December 2019. During this period, the value of payments fluctuated between 80 million British pounds (February 2017), and 149 million British pounds (April 2018 and 2019). As of December 2019, the FPS return payments amounted to 117 million British pounds. In the same month, the total FPS payments, including standing orders, forward dated payments, return payments and single immediate payments were nearly 171 billion British pounds.
