A graduate is defined as a person who is aged over 20, not enrolled on any educational course and who has a level of higher education above A level standard.
A non recent graduate is a graduate who left full time education more than five years from the survey date.
Researchers at the University of Warwick and the University of the West of England have defined a non-graduate role as one which does not require a higher educational background.
