BSkyB to Sky plc

Formed by the merger between Sky Television and British Satellite Broadcasting in 1990 in a bid to save both failing companies, BSkyB went on to acquire Sky Italia and Sky Deutschland to become Sky plc. Since then, Sky plc has gone on to become one of the world’s largest media companies. In 2018, a bidding war between Fox and Comcast settled with the latter acquiring Sky plc in one of the world's largest M&A deals during that year.
