The statistic depicts the percentage price reductions for voice minutes in Africa from March to June 2011, by country. The price reduction for voice minutes reached 61 percent in Namibia between March and June 2011. Some countries in the region have seen fierce price wars during 2011 with the price of the best available tariff in Namibia falling by 61 percent during the second quarter of 2011 with similar reductions in other countries. For a selection of mobile operators across the whole of Africa, the effective price per minute for voice services has fallen by 18 percent between the second quarter of 2010 and the second quarter of 2011.
