In 2021, the volume of copper recycled from new scrap in the United States amounted to 683 thousand metric tons, slightly down from 697 thousand tons in the previous year. Figures refer to scrap that results from the manufacturing process, including metal and alloy production. New scrap of copper excludes home scrap, which is scrap generated and recycled in the metal producing plant.
