Rental of social housing (HLM) in France As of January 1, 2024, Île-de-France was the region with the most rented or offered rental housing in the French rental stock with more than million HLM units. It was followed by Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes () and Hauts-de-France (). During the same period, the average rent of social housing varied depending on the financing organization and the region.
