* The source adds the following information: "This table contains the areas for all common cabbages, leafy and stem vegetables, vegetables grown for fruit, root vegetables, bulbs and tubers, fresh pod vegetables, other vegetables harvested fresh (not dry), including melons and watermelons and strawberries grown either on open arable land in rotation with other agricultural or horticultural crops, or under greenhouses or high accessible shelters. This indicator uses the concept of 'harvested area.' The 'harvested area' corresponds to the total area sown for the production of a particular crop during the same year (that is, the sum of areas sown and harvested more than once during the same year), excluding the unharvested area. For example, radishes have a growing period of four to six weeks. If 1 hectare is sown and harvested four times during the same year and if the entire sown area is harvested except for the last one, for which only 80 percent of the field is harvested, then the harvested area will be 3.8 hectares (4 hectares minus 0.2 hectare of unharvested area)."
