This statistic presents the annual evolution of the number of foreign tourists who visited between 2007 and 2023 the three main autonomous communities receiving tourism in Spain: Catalonia, the Canary Islands, and the Balearic Islands. As the data shows, Catalonia was the leading Spanish autonomous community in international tourist visits throughout the observed period. In the last year, it received nearly 18.2 million tourists. The Balearic Islands ranked second, while the Canary archipelago was relegated to third place with around 14 million foreign tourists.
