This statistic presents the number of ISBNs registered within private publishing in Spain in 2018, by type of publisher. During the referenced year, small publishers registered nearly * ISBNs, while author-publishers registered approximately ISBNs.
The ISBN is the international standard number for books that identifies the edition of a book from a specific publisher and a particular edition. If the work consists of several volumes, a number is assigned to the entire publication and different numbers to each volume, or individual physical unit. Each new edition of a book will have a different ISBN.
