According to statistics, the annual evolution of the number of deaths recorded from traffic accidents in Spain during the period between 2006 and 2019 remained above 1,800 deaths. In 2020, it fell below that threshold for the first time, and in 2021, despite the increase experienced, it still did not exceed it, approaching 1,600 . The same did not happen in 2022, when around 1,820 deaths were recorded on the country's roads.
