This statistic represents the distribution of students in higher education in France in 2024, according to the socio-professional category (CSP) of the parents and the field of study. More than one-third of university students had parents who were executives or held higher intellectual professions. This proportion rises to more than 53 percent in preparatory classes and to more than 64 percent in the ENS.
