This statistic illustrates the evolution of the number of people who died on the highway network in France between 2012 and 2023. It can be seen that in 2023, 181 people died in accidents on French highways. 2020 was the year with the fewest deaths ( 127 ) during this entire period, following a steady decrease since 2015. This reduction in highway deaths until 2020, followed by an increase in 2021, is related to the trend in deaths on the entire French road network.
