This chart represents the total revenue generated from the wealth tax and the real estate wealth tax in France from 2006 to 2023, in millions of euros. Note that since January 1, 2018, the real estate wealth tax (IFI) has replaced the wealth tax (ISF) and applies to individuals or couples holding taxable net real estate assets not related to professional activity exceeding million euros. The IFI therefore excludes bank and financial investments and cash; a government decision aimed at boosting investment in French companies and thus promoting job creation. If this revenue was relatively stable between 2014 and 2017, it experienced a decrease of more than billion euros between 2017 and 2018 due to the transition to the IFI. In 2023, it amounts to billion euros, representing an increase of percent compared to 2018.
