As of the first half of 2023, the total value of fraudulent credit transfer transactions in Czechia exceeded 20 million euros. Credit transfer fraud includes scams such as authorized push payment (APP) fraud, where victims are tricked into sending money to fraudulent accounts. During the same period, fraudulent payments made using cards accounted for over 10 million euros. Card fraud includes unauthorized transactions using stolen or fake card details, card-not-present fraud (online purchases), lost or stolen card use, skimming, and account takeover. Cash withdrawal fraud amounted to around 707,000 euros.
