Among the world’s leading trading powers, China is the main source of Christmas articles that made their way to the United States. In 2024, the United States imported around three billion U.S. dollars' worth of Christmas articles such as ornaments and decorations. China singlehandedly accounts for over 80 percent of all Christmas article imports from the United States.

Decorating for the holidays

In the United States, around two-thirds of consumers said they decorated their homes for the holidays. According to the ÌÇÐÄÆƽâ°æ Global Survey, ornaments, light strings, and Christmas tree balls were some of the most preferred decorative items for the festive season. 

Holiday season sales

The holiday season is a significant economic event in the United States. During the months of November and December, sales typically increase as consumers secure gifts for their loved ones and prepare festive food for Christmas dinners. In 2024, holiday season retail sales were forecast to reach about 973 billion U.S. dollars in the U.S., representing a growth of about 4.7 percent over the previous year.
