As of 2023, artificial intelligence (AI) did not yet play a major role in Italy's local public administration institutions' digital transformation, having only * percent of the companies reported already using one of the listed technologies. Nevertheless, in the next 3 years, around ** percent of the respondents expect intelligent data processing, and nearly half expect Natural language processing, chatbots, and virtual assistants to be adopted by 2026. Intelligent RPA (Robotic process automation) was the least popular one, having about ** percent of the PAs reporting no interesting in the technology.
