The Portuguese government, which took office in March 2022, counted with ** resignations by November 2023, ** of secretaries of State and of ministers. The ministry of health recorded resignations, including of *** minister. The ministry of infrastructure and housing registered *** resignations, after which *** seperate ministries were formed. The minister of the new ministry of infrastructure resigned as well.
The Portuguese Prime Minister, António Costa, presented his resignation to the President of the Republic in November 2023. Due to this, the government will remain in office until the snap election of March 2024 gives rise to a new executive. However, the present government sees its power currently limited to acts that are strictly necessary to the management of public affairs.
