In 2020, over 97 percent of women who gave birth in Guyana were assisted by skilled health professionals. During the period depicted, the share of births assisted by nurses, midwives, or doctors in the country has fluctuated between 85.7 percent in 2014 and 98.3 percent recorded in 2013. It was estimated that the share of births attended by skilled health personnel in the Americas between 2013 and 2022 reached 97 percent.
