There were 58,470 students enrolled in "Higher" Yeshiva institutions in Israel in the school year of 2021/22. This was a slight decrease in the number of students compared to the previous school year of 2020/21. The number of students enrolled in these type of Yeshiva institutions in the country overall grew by around 11 percent in the period under review.

An institution categorized as a "Higher" Yeshiva is aimed at students in their later teens or early twenties, typically seen as a post-secondary school. A Yeshiva, in contrast, is aimed at younger students in their early teens.
