In 2024, the total mental health care costs in the Netherlands were expected to be approximately 5.56 billion euros for the whole year. The costs for mental health care dropped in 2021, but this was not related to less funding for mental care provided, rather, it was due to a one-time adjustment in the way administrative healthcare costs were calculated.
