In 2025, the current account balance as a share of the gross domestic product (GDP) of Venezuela was 2.57 percent. Between 1980 and 2025, the figure dropped by 4.84 percentage points, though the decline followed an uneven course rather than a steady trajectory. From 2025 to 2027, the share will increase by 2.21 percentage points.

This indicator expresses the current account balance as a share of the gross domestic product. With regards to the current account balance, the International Monetary Fund states that the current account refers to all transactions other than those in financial and capital items. The gross domestic product, on the other hand, refers to the total value of final goods and services produced during a year.
