Some companies are represented in more than one segment, resulting in a total of 74 companies included in the analysis.
*The IMO strategy includes the following non-binding objectives: improving the design efficiency of existing and new-build ships, reducing GHG emissions by 50% and fully decarbonize "as soon as possible in this century", and reducing emissions intensity by 2030.

As of August 2022, ** percent of the ** largest shipping companies have had pledged to reach net zero GHG emissions by 2050 or follow the IMO strategy* to reduce GHG emissions. The container segment showed the highest degree of commitment with ** percent of the companies adapting the net zero targets or pledging to the IMO strategy.
