The major electricity-producing utility in France generated almost 73 percent of the national production in 2022. Although this figure decreased from over 86 percent in 2014, electricity production in France was still largely dominated by one single company, EDF. EDF's electricity production in France came mainly from nuclear sources, at almost 88 percent.
