In the sports season of 2020/21, the largest group of athletes actively engaging in athletics in Israel was aged 12 to 17. This age group constituted 50.3 percent of the athletic competitors in the country. People aged 18-24 accounted for the second-largest group of athletes, making up around 16.8 percent. In contrast, the share of athletes aged 61 and older stood at 1.3 percent.
