In June 2022, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) across Australia's capital cities recorded an average change of 6.1 percent on the 2021 June quarter. The CPI measures household inflation. Between June 2021 and June 2022, Perth, capital of Western Australia, saw the largest CPI percentage change of 7.4 percent. The CPI has risen steadily across the country since 2018.
