Germany's residential sector was the most dependent on Russian fossil fuels in 2019. In total, gas, oil, and coal imports from Russia accounted for 26 percent of the industry's production and imports in that year. Furthermore, in the transportation sector, one quarter of the total consumption was met by Russian oil imports.
