In 2023, there were approximately 1.94 million foreign nationals registered in South Korea, up from around 1.75 million in the previous year. While many of them entered the country in the late 2010s, the number of foreign nationals entering South Korea has steadily increased in recent decades, with the exception of a sharp decline in 2020.
