The employment rate in Egypt was around 38 percent in 2020. The majority of the employed individuals in the country were men at close to 63 percent. On the other hand, female employment was significantly smaller than their counterparts with nearly 12 percent as of the same year. Overall, the employment to population ratio of both genders dropped in the period under review.
