The financials sector accounted for ** percent of the total volume of venture capital (VC) deals closed in Africa between 2014 and 2020. This sector presented the highest share of deals on the continent, followed by information technology (** percent) and consumer discretionary (** percent). Moreover, the largest share of VC deals occurred in Southern Africa.
