On October 14, 2021, auction house Sotheby's sold Banksy's "Love Is In The Bin" for 18.58 million British pounds, making it the most expensive artwork by the British street artist sold at auction to date. The work, formerly known as "Girl with Balloon", gained notoriety for self-shredding during an auction in 2018, just after being sold for one million British pounds. This record was formerly held by Banksy's "Game Changer", which fetched nearly 17 million British pounds at a Christie's auction on March 23, 2021, exactly a year after the national lockdown in the United Kingdom. Its sales were entirely donated to the UK's National Health Service (NHS).
