In the financial year 2024, the Government of Ghana signed one loan from the World Bank for energy sector development in the country, which amounted to 250 million U.S. dollars. This bilateral loan was intended to cut down electricity lost by the Electricity company of Ghana (ECG), consequently improving energy sector finances and clean cooking accessibility.

In 2022, the Government signed a loan from the Korean government intended for the infrastructure and access of the Northern Ghana rural electricity network, reaching a value of 680 million U.S. dollars.
